As part of the new global Sourcing & Contracting team, the contracting manager is responsible for delivering all standards for Contracting within our Upstream business. A team-leader, the contracting manager helps to deploy and continuously improve the Upstream PSCM contracting standards, guidelines and tools. And supports BP’s Upstream PSCM, to effectively implement contracts, manage risk, and enable a continuous collaboration with our suppliers.
About the opportunity
As a contracting manager at BP, you’ll lead the development, deployment and continuous improvement of comprehensive templates and processes. You’ll support Upstream PSCMs categories at a global level and help develop all the supporting contracting procedures and guidelines.
At BP, you’ll improve organisational capability while helping us develop and deploy fit-for-purpose contracting learning materials. Furthermore, you’ll own and lead our transformation in the contracting space, leveraging advanced contracting models and enabling collaboration through the supply chain.
A proactive individual, you’ll manage multiple stakeholder relationships to understand the Operating Function and different BP business requirements. This will help you ensure all the needs are reflected into the contracting templates and procedures. What’s more, you’ll provide expert contracting advice to operating functions, regions and the wider S&C team.

In this role you will lead and manage a team of 9 contracting professionals.
With a university degree in engineering, procurement, contracting or an equivalent discipline, you have a great knowledge in PSCM - especially in areas of sourcing, contract drafting and execution, negotiation, and contract management. Furthermore, you’ve got a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines, cultures and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels.
You have an in-depth understanding of practical contracting and the ability to create transformation in the contracting space, by using the best in class templates, processes and technology.
You take pride in your understanding of global deployment of contracting procedures, standards and assessment processes. Plus, you’ve got great experience in the design and delivery of contracting organizational capability reviews, encompassing structure, processes and people. Above all, you’re a driven individual, who wants to drive transformation at a global scale.
This role can be either held in our offices in Sunbury on Thames (UK) or Houston (US).
