Job profile summary:

Role Synopsis

BP has embarked on an ambitious plan to modernize and transform using digital technologies to drive efficiency, effective and new business models.

In Network Services, we design, build, deliver and secure one of the largest networks on Earth. Our operations span over 600 office and production sites, thousands of retail locations and operate in nearly every continent. We are a diverse team of network and security technologists committed to delivering a secure, evergreen, elastic and fit-for-purpose network across some of the most challenging environments on earth. We believe that old ways of managing networks are giving way to new approaches centred on at-scale management through automations, scripting and contributing to the power of the open-source community.

As a PMO Specialist working within an Agile Dev/Ops Team, you will take full responsibility for providing project management support functions to facilitate the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of operations and development activities. This will include the development, implementation, monitoring and provision of guidance for dev/ops processes.

You will operate in a dynamic and engineering-focused environment, with the resources of the world's largest IT department and leading IT vendors at your fingertips. You are confident and comfortable working across cultures and can help make sure the voice of each team member is heard. You believe that safe, reliable and fit services depend on good operational discipline and passionately believe that repeatable automations play a meaningful role in achieving that outcome.

At IT&S, all the roles are within Chapters. While your role will continue to remain within the Chapter, your initial activities described below may change over time.

Key Accoutabilities

Team: You will grow and develop the capability of your team to deliver agile solutions by tracking deliverables, resources, and timelines throughout the project process. You will work with the team to support the development of delivery plans and processes, including but not limited to quality, risk and communication related tasks. You will ensure that organisational policies and strategies are adhered to and well-understood by the team members.

Management: You will facilitate business processes and communications plans, including, for example: handling of complaints, issues and resolutions, corrective actions, improvements and lessons learned, collection or distribution of information. You will maintain records through monitoring costs, timescales and resources used, to facilitate decision-making and act where these deviate from agreed tolerances. You will identify, assess and monitor risks that may affect the timelines or delivery of the project. You will implement processes to monitor the delivery, and/or contract compliance with terms, conditions and progress against agreed quality and performance criteria, including benefits realisation. You will ensure that projects are closed out formally with lessons learned recorded appropriately.

Safety and Compliance: Safety of our people and our customers is our highest priority. You will advocate and help ensure our architectures, designs and processes enhance a culture of operational safety and improve our digital security.
