Key Accountabilities: Provide chemical engineering and technical support to BP's PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) manufacturing assets and work with the manufacturing sites to drive Continuous Improvement in Safety and Risk Reduction.
Lead the identification of opportunities to improve the business by designing and evaluating options to reduce the costs of production or to increase capacity and reliability of the PTA Assets. Ensure all engineering standards and process safety requirements are met in any proposed modifications or improvements. Analyze PTA Assets' performance, tracking costs of production and monitoring trends in utilization and efficiency.
Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for maintaining the Asset Technology Contracts related the PTA manufacturing sites and provide regular status, prioritzation/risk review, and communication.
Work as a primary interface with the site leadership teams to gain understanding of the site’s direction and priorities and ensure alignment.
Work as a primary interface with appropriate Project Teams and Engineering Licensing teams as required to assist with design or troubleshooting.
Commission any new equipment or support major plant commissioning as/when required.
Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and learning, whether through formalized training or informal conversations and meetings, and drive knowledge transfer to the organization.
Provide coaching of the more junior engineers within the team and at the sites.

Essential Education: BS chemical engineering minimum with 15 or more years experience in a technology or manufacturing environment ; modeling and process simulation experience of >10 years preferred; Experience in PTA Technology preferred
Demonstrated influencing and leadership skills.
Demonstrated abilty to work with manufacturing sites regarding troubleshooting or introduction of new methods/technology
Demonstrated ability to mentor a cross section of engineering talent in the organization
