Role synopsis

The Accountmanager Truck & Bus is responsible for delivering the sales budget on BP PLUS cards volume, onroad services and credit control, for the customer portfolio in a specific region. The job holder is responsible for relationship management for core customers and lead generation of core prospects in the assigned region. The key focus is on achieving the required results with existing and new customers. The Accountmanager is part of the regional sales team coordinated by a Key Accountmanager to grow card volumes in the region by an efficient acquisition and lead generation process, in close cooperation with Marketing. Furthermore the Accountmanager works with Account managers from the regional BP branded Resellers to support them in selling BP PLUS cards and related services.

We are looking for 2 Accountmanagers Truck & Bus for the region West (Utrecht area) and region East (Apeldoorn area).

Key accountabilities

This role is customer-facing and combines many characteristics of the new Cards sales approach (value selling).
The following aspects are key ingredients of this function:

  • Negotiate customer (international) cards deals; cross- and upselling (e.g. international volume, FleetExpert, On Road Services) where possible;
  • Assist the Key Accountmanager in managing regional/national integrated card fuels deals;
  • Develop new and maintain customer relationships and offers;
  • Utilise pricing as a key tool for commercial sales success;
  • Appreciate the relationship between pricing, risk, exposure and volume effect and use it to BP’s advantage;
  • Monitor and manage BP’s credit risk;
  • Works with the Key Accountmanager to understand how safety, compliance and risk management applies to their roles, both in the office and during customer/site visits, and identify the actions they need to take to develop their skills and awareness.

Essential Education

Vocational education level required.

Essential experience and job requirements

  • 5 years sales experience (2nd or 3rd job);
  • The Account Manager Truck & Bus preferably has a strong sales background in the transport & logistic market and excellent deal closing and value selling skills;
  • Proficient Dutch language skills (verbal and written).

Other Requirements (e.g. Travel, Location)

We are looking for 2 Accountmanagers Truck & Bus for the region West (Utrecht area) and region East (Apeldoorn area).

Candidates who do not have proficient Dutch language skills (verbal and written) will not be included in the candidate pool.

This is a home based role, with extensive travel.

  • Sales person based on authority, interpersonal skills and experience;
  • Self motivated and able to work as a self starter.
