Role synopsis

The Process Engineering department, which is part of the Technical organisation, deals with the development & implementation of the capital program (projects), major turnarounds (TAR) and integrity management. We are looking for a:

Subject Matter Expert (SME) pressure relief system

Key accountabilities

Main responsibilities & accountabilities:
Stay current with the latest relief systems codes & standards (BP ETP, API, EN and PED) and technical development.
Provide technical guidance and interpretation of codes & standards
Evergreen the BPRR Relief System-related Site Technical Practices (STP’s) with the latest standards and lessons learnt from other incidents and past project experiences.
Mentor process engineers (both BP and integrated contractors) on relief system work
Act as single point of contact for all questions related to PS PPM - electronic database of BPRR’s relief system design basis.
Conduct PS PPM or relief system training for Technical, Maintenance, Inspection, Operations, or other relevant roles within BPRR, and also the 3rd party engineering contractors
Perform independent relief system review on projects
Review and approve new and modified PSV & Flare design and relief dossier for technical accuracy. Ensure that design conforms to corporate and accepted standards.
Responsible for ensuring BPRR's flare & relief system dossiers stays evergreen through a sustainable & pragmatic PRS Life Cycle Management program
Provide support to HAZOP and LOPA team for relief system related questions, and ensure relief devices credited as non-IPL or IPL safeguard does not have any deficiency.
Support the resolution of MOC and HAZOP action items.
Help determine CDTP (cold differential test pressure) of PSV’s for Inspection & Maintenance team.
Perform gap assessment on BPRR facilities whenever any new/revised BP ETP’s or High Value Learning is released by BP central to all sites.
Support refinery audit and internal barrier reviews.
Represent BPRR in BP Pressure Relief Systems COI (Community of Interest)

Essential Education

Master in Chemical Engineering
3+ years process engineering experience, preferably with extensive relief system design experience

Essential experience and job requirements

Very well-versed with process modeling tools, such as Hysys, Petrosim, Flarenet, Visual Flow, Phast
Well-versed with PS PPM tool preferably
